About Magnetic Fasteners on Brooches

Quality Magnetic Fasteners are used on the back of each brooch as opposed to the traditional pin clasp. Magnetic fasteners will not damage or put holes in your clothing.

Each magnetic fastener is selected based on the design of the brooch. Consequently various sizes, strengths or shapes may be used. The magnetic fasteners hold equally well on light thin fabrics, medium fabrics such as a wool jacket and heavy fabrics such as a leather coat. An exception to this are the very small round magnets used on the smallest brooches. These generally will hold well on all fabrics except very thick materials such as a leather coat or boot.

Magnetic brooches can be used as accents on clothing, scarves, hats, and handbags. They can also be used as decorations for gift wraps, cookie tins, lampshades and other household items.

How to use the magnetic clasp: Always slide the magnetic pieces apart rather than pulling them apart. Keep magnets away from children and items that can be affected by magnets such as credit cards, computers and pacemakers.

AN IMPORTANT WARNING: If you have a heart pacemaker, DO NOT select a brooch using a magnetic fastener. Please contact me and ask if a pin clasp can be substituted.
